Other Religions

Question:-

According to Islam God sent 125,000 prophets. Can anyone explain this. So why do many Muslims, including ulema and governments have such a hard time accepting other religions.

Answer:-

The Quran tells us that many Prophets were sent but does not mentioned any specific total number, though 25 are mentioned by name. The number 125,000 is mentioned in a Hadith, but it is not regarded as wholly reliable. We cannot, therefore, be certain who these other Prophets are.

If there was any need or benefit for us to know them, then the Quran would have told us.

Question:-

Could it not be that Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, religions of Africa, the Americans, Oceania etc. were in fact brought/revealed by these prophets, each having been sent to another group of people on the planet?

Answer:-

Yes it could be.

All religions if sent by Allah are one. They are Islam. Islam, meaning Surrender to Allah, is what every true Prophet and Messenger has taught. We are required to worship only Allah, Who is one with no partners.

This message and its implications are found in a completed form in the Quran brought to us by the Seal of the Prophets. There is, therefore, no need for any other religion.

Question:-

Does the Quran say anywhere that the previous revelations are all null and void?

Answer:-

No, the Quran does not say that.

But it tells us:-

(a) That previous religions were corrupted by misinterpretation, alteration and neglect of some their teachings and practices.

(b) That Islam contains all the essentials that were contained in previous revelations. It corrects, restores, confirms and guards the truth in them.

(c) That Religion is perfected in the Islam as brought by Muhammad (saw).

It is not, therefore, difficult to understand that sincere seekers of truth, even those who wish to follow their own religion will be better off by following Islam.
