Conversion

Proposition:-

There are all kinds of people from every religion who convert to every other religion. They all claim that having done so gives them some kind of psychological fulfillment. Even people who follow cults make this claim. The whole thing means absolutely nothing. Richard Gere, the film actor converted to Buddhism. Does that prove that Buddhism is a correct religion? But the conversion of well-known or supposedly intelligent people means nothing.

Comment:-

All true Religions, those which have been revealed, come through the higher minds of the founders. They are in a more intimate contact with reality. This means that they contain knowledge about man and existence in general which other people are not generally conscious of, but nevertheless affect them.

People follow these religions for various reasons - comfort, companionship, or some other of kind of economic, social or psychological advantage. Some, however, follow them because they create some kind of resonance within themselves. It increases their awareness and brings them into contact with the same realities as perceived and experienced by the founders. Others are what is known as "spiritually dead" and cannot perceive anything in them, and still others, a negative set of people see their own "ID" or "Devils" reflected in them.

But because people in general are less conscious to various degrees and also have fixations, fantasies and prejudices, they misinterpret or distort the message. Therefore, the original teachings of these different religions are misunderstood, and as ordinarily understood and practiced, they are in various states of corruption. Some are more corrupt than others, and there are various levels within the same religion.

Suppose we denote the various religions by the letters A, B, C, D etc. We also denote the levels by numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. Then we may have the following:-

A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6, A7,

B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B6,

C1, C2, C3, C4, C5,

D1, D2, D3, D4.

Though A3, for instance, is not the same as B3 or C3, they are equivalent in level.. But A reaches higher than B which reaches higher than C, which reaches higher than D. This is because A is a later more developed state than B and may be regarded as including the stages of B. Similarly, B is later than C and includes it.

When people convert from one religion to another they choose the one which conforms best to their desires or one which they understand best. They move from a lower state to a higher state - say A1 to B2. If as a result of this, their studies and development continues then they may rise within the same religion or they may convert to another religion but to a higher stage in it. They may go from B2 to B3. Or they may go from B2 to C3. Later they may go from C3 to D4 or B4 or A4.

Though they go higher, there is no guarantee that they are going into a religion which will take them to the highest level. i.e. C does not reach level 6 and B does not reach level A. But the history of mankind shows a movement of people in the series D to C to B to A.

So, though I do not think that a particular Muslim or set of Muslims is better or worse than anyone in any other religion, I do think that Islam itself reaches to the highest level and is represented by A above. But obviously, as indicated above, other will agree or disagree according to how they see and understand these different religions.
