Different Religions

Critic :-

Some Muslims cannot even allow themselves to think that leaving Islam is an option.

Comment:-

Thre is no compulsion in Religion.

Indeed, there cannot be any because it is an inner matter of understanding and personal effort. There is no spiritual benefit from actions which are compelled. There should, therefore, be no attempt at compulsion as the Quran says.

However, because people influence each other, immoral activity cannot be allowed lest it destroy the social system which facilitates the spiritual life.

God has sent many Messengers with religions formulated in different ways and with their own traced out paths.(Quran 5:48). Each religion is understood and practiced by its followers according to the various levels of understanding and abilities of its adhrents.

Each religion may, threfore, be said to have many levels and is a ladder on which they can climb, and different people are on different rungs.

But apart from this the series of religions also forms a ladder. Or one could regard them as a series of ladders with increasing heights. It is possible, threfore, that some people on a smaller ladder have reached a greater height than other people even though they are on a higher ladder.

It may be that the ladders are of the same height but that some are made of stronger material and are easier to climb than others and the rungs can carry a greater number of people.

But all this applies to the religion as originally taught by the inspired Founder. The ladder might have become rotten and full of woodworm and need of repair, renewal or replacement.
